Trish Sutton

Communication Skills Facilitator (Cape Town)

Trish Sutton is an experienced and talented facilitator. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Speech and Drama, English and Linguistics in 1992 and has teaching diplomas in both Modern and Hip-Hop dance.

Her love for performance and language developed at a very young age and she channelled this passion into the areas of debating, public speaking and acting. After completing her degree, she worked in both the legal field and the retail industry where she was an HR Manager for one of the country’s leading retail chain stores. While working in HR, she focused on training staff and dealing with various industrial disputes which arose. What she learnt most during these years was the skill to address and train people from a wide variety of social and educational backgrounds. Her background has gone far to inform her training style and as a result she works with intuition and connection when training our clients in communication skills.

In 2001 Trish won the Cape Talk Voice Search and began working as a presenter, running a live talk show on Cape Talk/702. Learning to speak on air, dealing with callers and addressing issues on the spot was a challenge she embraced and enjoyed. While raising her family she started her own business teaching performance and speech skills to children using drama and dance. In addition to her work at Confident Communicator, she specializes in remedial work with children who have learning and social difficulties. Trish believes that self-confidence is something that can be worked on from a young age, but it is never too late to help somebody develop it, and her training in psychology has been put to good use in this area.

Trish has worked as a professional actress in the international and local film and television industries. She has had roles in films and series for Paramount and Sony Pictures, BBC and Investigation Discovery Channel amongst others. She is well known for her ability to deliver performances in various accents and to skilfully take on character roles. Her experience and strength in language delivery has also led her to become a voice artist and dialect coach in the industry.

Trish has gained valuable experience in the industries in which she has worked. This experience, together with her training in Speech and Drama, Psychology, language and Human Resources, enables Trish to assist clients to achieve positive transformations and excel in their communication ability.
